War on your Mind

The Criteria that needed to be met for Session 5:

Mixed Medium
Zombie Warfare
Pop Art


Mixed Medium:
Acrylic paints, photoshop, tea, paper collage, India ink, and micron pens.


Zombie Warfare:
This thing evolved in so many directions in my head, in it just came down to what I had the time for. It wasn't until after I started in this direction that I realized the potential political undertones of this. Meh, its ok, my conspiracy self dosnt mind...

YOU are the Zombie. Your freedom, your thoughts, your inner self is at war with Big Brother, be it the government, corporations, anything. Their weapons are mass media and manipulating your need to conform to get you to feed their greed. What are yours?



Pop Art:
Most pop art references I found all involve BRIGHT colors. High contrast. The 'Andy Warhol effect' and comic-book esque figures. SOOO, since pop art is these things, I took my Bright colors and created a backdrop of a zombie mob.

The definition of Pop art revolves around things you see in daily life presented as art. SO, tying in with warfare we have your friendly zombie recruiter, Uncle Sam. A collage of loud crazy doomsday headlines from newspapers that you see daily to fancy up the mixed media, and some overdone accenting of the outlines with the india ink to make it comic-ey and to pop more.
